Welcome...

So glad you chose to stop by!

I hope to use this blog to share some of my handmade cards as well as some of my scrapbook pages and maybe a few pics here and there that may or may not make it to a scrapbook page.

Scrapping for me is simply a fun hobby that I don't do often enough. More often than not, I'm a collector of all things scrap... i.e. tools, paper, embellishments...

Now to become motivated... Maybe this blog is just the way to do it...

Enjoy and come back SOON!

It's a SPRING thing... The Cutting Cafe

Shaped cards are my favorite. And I couldn't resist this Butterfly Shaped Card from The Cutting Cafe. I used my die cutting machine to cut the file and I added a little spring scene just for the fun of it. It was a way to use some of those little scraps that seem to be compounding!

BTW, This shaped card comes in PDF, SVG, and WPC formats.

Enjoy...

Birthday Card for Mom...

This card is for my mom's birthday. Since I'm in Spring mode, I thought I'd use flowers(again). I cut the card base from the Cricut Lacy Labels cartridge and the flowers came from the Cricut Paisley cartridge. I distressed the flowers a bit to give them a little more oomph! The stamped sentiment is from Papertrey Ink.

Enjoy!

Hey Chick...The Cutting Cafe

Aren't these images the cutest? This card was created using the Easter Set 3 Printable Stamp set from none other than The Cutting Cutting Cafe.

The set comes with 20 images (includes frames, images, and sentiments) and is so versatile. I printed the image on the card and to add just a little dimension, I printed the egg portion, hand cut it, and popped it with dimensionals. Super easy and super fun... And I love doing matching envelopes (especially if I'm going to hand deliver the card). I sized down the image on the envelope and punched it with a circle punch.

Enjoy...

Enjoy The Journey...The Cutting Cafe

A friend of mine wanted to give a card to a coworker who is training to ride in the MS 150 this year. I immediately thought of the printable stamp set from The Cutting Cafe called "Let's Go For A Ride".

I used my desktop publishing software to color the bike with a nice girlie pink shade. I also added the "Enjoy the journey" sentiment which is also part of the Let's Go For a Ride Set. I just love this set. It has lots and lots of adorable images and sentiments. Go check 'em out!!!

Make It TALL...CCC#65

Back with another Cricut Cardz Challenge. The DT was asked to make a 9 X 4 card... any theme, any colors, and any cartridges!!! Certainly you guys can play along with this challenge!!!

This card that I made can be used for many themes (friendship, thinking of you, bday, just because)etc... I wanted to make it fun so I used the adorable spiral flower cut from Accent Essentials. I needed a long stem so I used a stem cut from Walk In My Garden. You can't see the leaves because I covered it with this cute, but funky ribbon that's been in my stash forever. And since I've been neglecting my Imagine, I decided to print the papers from the Hopscotch cartridge. I also added the butterfly from the images that come stored on the Imagine. I threw in a comple of buttons added a few stamped sentiments and a little bling and voila the card is done!

Stop on by the Cricut Cardz Site and show us your creations!

It's About That Time... Cutting Cafe

The Cutting Cafe has lots of new digi stamps so you have to go and check them out. This card was made using the newly released digi stamp set called "It's About That Time". This flower with the embedded clock as well as the sentiment are only a couple of the MANY images that come with that set. The set comes with large clocks that can be punched out with a 3inch circle punch. It comes with timepieces that are perfectly sized for A2 cards and much much more. There's a total of 77 images in all!!!

For this card, I cut the flower using Make the Cut Software and pop dotted them for a little added dimension.

This card was super simple to make and Oh so fun!

My Funny Valentine...CCC#61

I'm back again with another card for the Cricut Cardz Challenge Site. This week the challenge is to make a Valentine's card using any cartridge; however, there's a catch. You must use the colors BLUE, GREEN and WHITE ONLY. This one was particularly challenging for me. I realize that I never used those colors.

I made a simple card using the "Doodlecharms" cartridge. The heart is cut # 3.0 inches. The matching envelope comes from the "Christmas Cheer" cartridge. The blue pattern paper was printed from the Cricut Imagine "Yummy" cartridge.

Your turn. Let's see how you do with this challenge.

Take Your Time... The Cutting Cafe

I just love the Animal and Bug Love Colored printable stamp over at The Cutting Café. It’s packed with lots of images. Using the colored set was a piece of cake. I just resized the image, added a frame from the B & W Animal and Bug Love Set, printed it and I was done.

To add a little dimension, I cut the turtle shell in MTC and adhered it with pop dots. I used a couple of Cricut cuts for the clouds and grass. Since this card will be hand delivered, I thought I’d make a cute little matching envelope as well.

Enjoy!!!

Valentine's Bouquet... The Cutting Cafe

I promise the next card will use some different colors other than red, black and white. I've been hooked on those colors and it seemed to work well for this card.

I used the Flower Pot Shaped Card Template from the Cutting Café for this card. The template comes with the shaped card and lots of flowers. It really made putting this project together easy as 1, 2, 3.

That's one of my favorite color combinations so I really enjoyed this challenge. I chose to make a "Just Because" card. This one can be used for various occasions.

Now let's see what you have...!!! Stop on by the CCC site and join in with us.

This entire project was done with the Cricut Sweet Treats Cartridge.

Words of LOVE... Cutting Cafe

I’m back with another Valentine’s Day theme card!!! This card uses the Words of Love Colored Printable Stamp Set from The Cutting Café. The set is HUGE and versatile. You can print them, resize them, change colors, import and cut them with SCAL or MTC and a lot more.

For my card base, I imported the Scalloped frame PDF into Make the Cut Software. I then cut it with my die cutting machine. Using scallops on my cards is one of my favorite things so I'll return to this set often!!!

The jumbled words were printed from the Words of Love set as well. I think it made a great background paper!!!

The cute little rose is from the Sizzix 3D Flower die cut.

Until next time, Enjoy…

All About Valentine's Day...Cutting Cafe

Time flies, huh? I can’t believe we’re already approaching Valentine ’s Day!!! To get started with my cards, I chose to use some of the Valentine’s Day designs from The Cutting Café. The love birds with hearts and the "Together" sentiment are part of a printable stamp set called “All About Valentine’s Day”. You can color them in with pens or you can choose to do as I’ve done and color them using any desktop publishing software program. Or you can cut them out with your favorite scrap paper. The stamps are easily resized too!!! The love birds were sized larger for the card, but scaled down to fit the circle punch for the envelope. Nice! And what’s Valentine’s Day without something sweet. I used the Cutting Café “Candy Box” cutting file to make the adorable candy box. You can fill them with whatever you like. I chose to fill mine with some yummy Granola Thins. They were perfectly sized for this box. More cards to make. See ya soon.

Until then, enjoy…

I used October afternoon "Fly A Kite" scraps for all the papers.

Merry Christmas... CCC #50

Design Team #1 has done a fabulous job with this week’s challenge over @ the Cricut Cardz Challenge Site. This week they will inspire you with Christmas cards using the “card creative feature” from any cartridge. Stop on by and join them. You can use any colors too. I decided to play along with Design Team #1. I used the card feature from the Stretch Your Imagination Cricut cartridge for the card base. I welded a square in the card to make an opening in the card then I used the card frame feature for the pink layer. The Christmas tree is pop dotted on the inside of the card. The tree was cut from the Christmas Cheer cartridge and the bows are from the Christmas Solutions cartridge (that is a FREE download if you purchase and register a Cricut Gypsy by 12/31/2010). As you can see, I used non-traditional Christmas colors because that’s the mood I was in. All bling is courtesy of the Imaginisce I-rock tool.

Don’t forget to check out the Cricut Cardz Site. We’d love to see your take on the challenge!

Imagine-Nation Challenge w/ Emma

Here's a card a made for the 1st Imagine-Nation Monday Challenge with Emma. She gave us an easy start. The challenge was to use the Cricut Imagination to create anything we wanted. The only stipulation is that we had to use a stamp.

I used a combination of Cricut cartridges and Imagination cartridges for this card. The scallop base came from Accent Essentials. I used the Imagine to print the color on the scallop base using an RGB Code. The patterned paper and the tea cup are from the Imagine Best Friends cartridge.

The "enjoy" stamp is from Papertrey Ink and the "Two Cups" stamp is from Stampendous.

I'm still amazed at being able to use only white paper to create such colorful cards and LOs with a Cricut.

Enjoy...

Wind Beneath My Wings...

I'm still getting to know my Cricut Imagine. I admit I haven't had a chance to spend a tremendous amount of time playing with it. I never cut out the various words and phrases that are on most Cricut cartridges so I thought it would be great to use the Imagine print function & use one of the phrases as the sentiment on my card front. I really like that feature.

Anyway, on this card, the Sentiment & branch were printed via the Imagine. The butterflies and leaves were both print and cut using the Imagine. The machine does so much more than this and in time, I'll be doing a whole lot more...

Enjoy...
