My friends and I had a challenge to use some our scraps. In addition, we were to use some form of embossing (wet or dry), and a technique or tool that we'd never done before.
I chose to do an Easel card because I've always wanted to try it (hope this counts as technique). All of the paper came from my scrap stash and I wet embossed the sentiment.
Challenge met!
BTW... the flower pot easel is an SVG from "My Scrap Chick" that was cut with my Silhouette.
Enjoy...
Welcome...
I hope to use this blog to share some of my handmade cards as well as some of my scrapbook pages and maybe a few pics here and there that may or may not make it to a scrapbook page.
Scrapping for me is simply a fun hobby that I don't do often enough. More often than not, I'm a collector of all things scrap... i.e. tools, paper, embellishments...
Now to become motivated... Maybe this blog is just the way to do it...
Enjoy and come back SOON!

Fun Masculine... The Cutting Cafe'
It's Monthly Inspiration Time @ The Cutting Cafe. This month's focus is Father's Day or masculine cards (birthday, thinking of you, etc.). I decided to make a fun masculine card that could be used for most occasions. I was attempting to make the car look really shiny and in the process I kinda overdid the diamond glaze. So now it looks kinda plastic and kinda grungy... But there are no mistakes in paper crafting, right?
I used the It's Road Trip Time digital stamp set for the car. The sentiment is from "The Cruising By to Say Hi" car set @ the Cutting Cafe.
Both sets used for this card are HUGE. The "Cruisin' By to Say Hi" set features 98 images and the "It's Road Trip Time" set features 74 images. WOW!!! Stop on by The Cutting Cafe and check 'em out.
Enjoy...

Sweet Treats... The Cutting Cafe
Isn't this the biggest most delicious cupcake? I loved it the moment I saw it at The Cutting Cafe. The set is called Huge Cupcake and comes in PDF, WPC and SVG formats. I thought the Cupcake Box from The Cutting Cafe made a nice accessory. And finally, I love creating matching envelopes for my projects so I used the Martha Stewart Scoring Board to make this 6X6 envie... BTW, the sentiment from the Everyday 1-inch Greetings Set at The Cutting Cafe.
Enjoy...

Hey Chick...The Cutting Cafe
Aren't these images the cutest? This card was created using the Easter Set 3 Printable Stamp set from none other than The Cutting Cutting Cafe.
The set comes with 20 images (includes frames, images, and sentiments) and is so versatile. I printed the image on the card and to add just a little dimension, I printed the egg portion, hand cut it, and popped it with dimensionals. Super easy and super fun... And I love doing matching envelopes (especially if I'm going to hand deliver the card). I sized down the image on the envelope and punched it with a circle punch.
Enjoy...

Make It TALL...CCC#65
Back with another Cricut Cardz Challenge. The DT was asked to make a 9 X 4 card... any theme, any colors, and any cartridges!!! Certainly you guys can play along with this challenge!!!
This card that I made can be used for many themes (friendship, thinking of you, bday, just because)etc... I wanted to make it fun so I used the adorable spiral flower cut from Accent Essentials. I needed a long stem so I used a stem cut from Walk In My Garden. You can't see the leaves because I covered it with this cute, but funky ribbon that's been in my stash forever. And since I've been neglecting my Imagine, I decided to print the papers from the Hopscotch cartridge. I also added the butterfly from the images that come stored on the Imagine. I threw in a comple of buttons added a few stamped sentiments and a little bling and voila the card is done!
Stop on by the Cricut Cardz Site and show us your creations!

That's one of my favorite color combinations so I really enjoyed this challenge. I chose to make a "Just Because" card. This one can be used for various occasions.
Now let's see what you have...!!! Stop on by the CCC site and join in with us.
This entire project was done with the Cricut Sweet Treats Cartridge.

I believe... You can fly...
Here's a card that I made for a younger cousin who is in her first year of college. She's so smart and while she's excited about college, she's also nervous. I wanted to let her know how much I believe in her! I used the new iRock tool for the bling on this card. It's a pretty neat tool and since I'm a gadget girl, it was a must have!

Hello...
I’d almost forgotten some of the fun cuts on the Cricut Wildcard Cartridge. I wanted to make a simple “Thinking of You” card with a simple sentiment. Since the card was so plain, I added some crinkled ribbon (although it doesn't look crinkled in the photo) to dress it up a bit. Anyway, this “oldie but goodie” cartridge has served its purpose once again!

Some for the Reserve...
Just dropping in to share a couple of cards I recently made. For the purse card, I used the Cricut Forever Young Cartridge and for the present card I used the Cricut Sweet Treats cartridge. The cards aren’t made for any specific occasion. They are meant to be multi-purpose. I’m trying to build up my card supply so I can have some in reserve. Boy would that be a departure from the norm!

Have a Fabulous Day... PTI again...
Okay, I’m really loving the Papertrey Ink background stamps. Once again I used the Polka Dot Basics II to stamp the pink & white polka dot patterns. I really love the ability to make my own background paper. I need to move on from the polka dots because I purchased two other sets. I also used the Cricut Forever Young Cartridge for the model. Nestablities were used to mount the sentiment.
Now off to play with some more stamps.
Enjoy…

For Every Blessing...
I guess with this card, I’m exercising my right to change my mind. I was kinda opposed to "physically" stamping anything. No ink pads for me thank you… My computer will do nicely. Then I started to take notice of the Papertrey Ink background stamps. I can officially say that I’ve had a change of heart. I love their background stamps and have recently purchased a few sets. The 3 sets of borders at the bottom of the card are from the PTI’s Retro and Polka Dots Basics II background stamps. I started off with a small section, but I’m going to work my way to using the stamps to make my own patterned paper. I love how the various styles can be used interchangeably to make unique designs. I'll get there, but for now, baby steps....
The card is brown with teal accents; however, in the photo, the base looks black… The words for the sentiment were taken from one of my favorite gospel songs titled “For This I Give You Praise”.
Until next time, enjoy…

Have a WONDERFUL day... Use It #21
Here's a quick card for Use IT Challenge #21. The challenge this week was to:
- Use THIS AD as inspiration.
- Use a tool that hasn't been used in at least 6 months.
- Use alphabet stickers for title or sentiment.
I chose to make a simple card with a huge pale blue flower. The "Hello" sentiment uses Glitter alphabet stickers. I added texture to the brown cardstock with my paper crimper that has been safely tucked away for at least a year now.
TFL... Enjoy...

Simplicity...
Here's another July Bday card. I cut a scalloped frame for the card front. You know I really need to get another obsession, but I love scallops. Anyway I added a simple sentiment and a couple of flowers and it’s a wrap… At least for this one.
Enjoy!

Happy Scraps...Card Patterns Sketch #8
It seems my scrap pile is higher than my unused paper pile. So I decided to do something about that… I used some of my scrap paper to participate in Card Patterns Sketch #8. The colorful polka dots on the patterned paper seems as if they’d go with a “happy” theme so I used the familiar “Don’t Worry Be Happy” saying.
Well, I’m off to use more scrap paper. Until next time…
Enjoy…

CUTTLEBUG Meets CUPCAKE...Be Inspired #24
This week I decided to participate in one of the Cuttlebug challenges at The Cuttlebug Challenge Spot. This week’s challenge was to use the ever so popular cupcake as part of the design.
I LOVE making shaped cards so I chose to do a Cupcake shaped card and use the Cuttlebug embossing on the frosting as well as the cupcake wrapper (pretty hard to see with the patterned paper)…
The cupcake was cut with my Pazzles machine using the DB Love Pastries font. This was a fun challenge especially since I use my Cuttlebug on most of my cards.
Until next time,
Enjoy…

What We Are… What We Become… Grad Card
A friend asked me to make a graduation card for his son. Graduation is Saturday so I finished this one with a day to spare. The school colors are black, white, and hunter green. I had some green ribbon that was perfect and since I’m OVERLOADED with black/white patterned paper, it was easy to get the other two colors.
Coming up with the design for this card was a lot easier thanks to a sketch that I got from 2 Sketches 4 You. I love doing cards from sketches. It can really help to get the creative juices flowing.
Another card down… Gotta get to those Father’s Day cards…
Enjoy…

LIVE Life… CPS #66
I love making shaped cards. So CPS Sketch Challenge # 66 was simply perfect! I found the “Life is a Verb” quote online and thought… how true…! As a lover of quotes, I decided to turn it into a card...
So far, I’m keeping my promise not to buy anymore paper until I put a “significant” dent into the mountain that I have. I am the sole measurer of what is “significant”. That’s my built in loophole for one of those uncontrollable paper buying urges… Can’t be TOO strict with myself, right???
Enjoy…
