Welcome...

So glad you chose to stop by!

I hope to use this blog to share some of my handmade cards as well as some of my scrapbook pages and maybe a few pics here and there that may or may not make it to a scrapbook page.

Scrapping for me is simply a fun hobby that I don't do often enough. More often than not, I'm a collector of all things scrap... i.e. tools, paper, embellishments...

Now to become motivated... Maybe this blog is just the way to do it...

Enjoy and come back SOON!

Make It TALL...CCC#65

Back with another Cricut Cardz Challenge. The DT was asked to make a 9 X 4 card... any theme, any colors, and any cartridges!!! Certainly you guys can play along with this challenge!!!

This card that I made can be used for many themes (friendship, thinking of you, bday, just because)etc... I wanted to make it fun so I used the adorable spiral flower cut from Accent Essentials. I needed a long stem so I used a stem cut from Walk In My Garden. You can't see the leaves because I covered it with this cute, but funky ribbon that's been in my stash forever. And since I've been neglecting my Imagine, I decided to print the papers from the Hopscotch cartridge. I also added the butterfly from the images that come stored on the Imagine. I threw in a comple of buttons added a few stamped sentiments and a little bling and voila the card is done!

Stop on by the Cricut Cardz Site and show us your creations!

Simple Flower Card...

This card is one of a set of Thinking of You cards that I was asked to make. I chose my favorite color combination. I just think fuschia, black, and white go so well together. The flower and vase were cut from the Cricut Walk In My Garden cartridge. I roughed the flower up a bit and added some Stickles to give it more of a distressed look.

More to come…

Miscellaneous Card Set…. PTI March Blog Hop

I’ve only had PTI stamps for a couple of weeks now, but I couldn’t help participating in their monthly blog hop. This month’s Blog Hop Challenge is to use buttons along with one PTI product. Right now, I only have PTI background stamps and one set of their sentiment stamps. So I used all of the PTI products that I have.

I made a set of all occasion vase shaped cards. I used buttons for the flower centers. I don’t know the brand of buttons (just grabbed some from my stash)…
I used PTI’s background stamps to decorate the vase. The stamps used are: Retro, Polka Dots Basics II and Dot Spot. I used PTI Mega Mixed Messages stamps for the sentiments.

Fun times…

Thinking of YOU… Cricut Cardz #9

Okay, I admit it… I’m having a great time participating in the challenges @ the Cricut Cardz Challenge Site. This is my 3rd challenge in three weeks. What a way to give the Cricut a workout. Anyway, this week, the challenge was to create a Thinking of You card in any color and using any Cricut Cartridge. The card had to be folded using the “S-fold” technique.

So here’s my “S-fold” card. I used the Walk-In-My garden Cricut cartridge to cut the vase.

July ALREADY??? – Use IT Challenge #16

Can’t believe we’re already 7 months into 2009!!! Where does the time go??? Well, time to get those July birthday cards done. Here’s my first of the month. This card was done for the Use It Challenges Blog. For this challenge we had to:

  • Use something inspired by nature.

  • Use polka dots.

  • Use our favorite embellishment.

  • Mail our creation to someone special

I’ve got lots and lots of flowers so I used flowers, grass & a ladybug as my nature inspiration. The flowers are Bazzill Bitty Blossoms; the grass is a cut from the Cricut "Plaintain Schoolbook" cartridge, and the ladybug is a cut from the Cricut "Walk in my Garden" cartridge. Polka dots were added with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder. My favorite embellishment is ribbon and this card will be going in the mail shortly… Mission accomplished!

Oh Yeah, I know it’s Summer and my card is a bit "Springy", but…

Enjoy!

Random Act of Kindness…. Week 3

I’m on target with my third set of RAK cards. I’ve found that it’s easier to get them done if I come up with one theme and stick with that. Well got lots more to do. Just wanted to do a quicky post.

Enjoy…

The MORE Things CHANGE…

…the MORE they stay the SAME (at least with this set of cards)… I was asked to recreate a couple of cards that I'd done in the past. To switch it up a bit, I chose different paper and ribbon than those used with the original cards. I’ve got to admit that it was just as much fun doing it again as it was the first time. Hope the recipients like them…

I’m in a “FLOWERY” Mood…

Well I guess I’m always adding flowers to my cards so my mood is not extremely surprising… BUT, with the arrival of Spring, I thought I’d add some really colorful flowers for a change.

The first card is for my mother. It’s very basic, but I think it’s pretty elegant too… That’s because I made the card with my mother's personality in mind… She’s definitely not one for excess... A simplistic elegance is always in order as far as my mother is concerned… So I took a little textured paper, scored it twice, embossed the top then added flowers and the "HAPPY BIRTHDAY & LOVE" sentiments... Then I was DONE!!!

As the saying goes, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it… So I kept the flower theme going with the shaped “vase & flowers” card. It's a birthday card for a co-worker/friend.

Just FYI... I’m still loving my CDS. I was able to make the shaped card in a flash…
