Welcome...

So glad you chose to stop by!

I hope to use this blog to share some of my handmade cards as well as some of my scrapbook pages and maybe a few pics here and there that may or may not make it to a scrapbook page.

Scrapping for me is simply a fun hobby that I don't do often enough. More often than not, I'm a collector of all things scrap... i.e. tools, paper, embellishments...

Now to become motivated... Maybe this blog is just the way to do it...

Enjoy and come back SOON!

I used the Cricut cartridge "Something to Celebrate" for the cake cut and I used Plantin Schoolbook for the matching envelope.

Join in on the fun. Let us see your take on this challenge. Drop by CCC / CardzTV for details.

Grandparent Bday...CCC #83

This birthday challenge @ CCC has put me ahead of schedule on birthday cards!! It's a good feeling to already have my grandmother's card done. No last minute on this one. I went ahead and made two. Both grandmother's are done!!!

Now it's your turn. The challenge this week is to make a birthday card for a grandparent. You can use any cartridge and any colors. Simple enough, right?

I used Elegant Edges for the circles layer as well as the tag for the sentiment. The flowers were cut from Accent Essentials and distressed with Glimmer Mist. All pattern papers were printed with the Cricut Imagine Vintage Papers and Black and White Cartridges.

For My Reserve... Cutting Cafe

I'm such a last minute card maker, but my goal has always been to have several kinds of cards on hand so when an occasion arises, I can just pull one from my reserve. This card will be part of my reserve. I chose not to put a sentiment on it until I decide how it will be used. It may be a kiddie birthday card, it may be a baby shower card... Who knows? At least the card is ready occasion come what may.

This cut comes from none other than the The Cutting Cafe and is called Dress Shaped Card 2 Cutting File. It comes with lots of accesories so you can mix and match as much as you like. Or you can do like I did and add some things from your scrapbooking stash. While I was at it, I decided to add a matching envelope... Why not??? The envelope is part of the Dress Shaped Card 2 set. How fabulous is that?

Party TIME...The Cutting Cafe

It's birthday party time and giving a handmade birthday cards is always a nice touch. I made this card using the pattern pieces for the Alarm Clock Shaped Card Template from The Cutting Cafe. I also added the party hat image to the clock face. The party hat image is from another Cutting Cafe set called Birthday Fun Set. I combined the images with some paper from my stash and it is done! I really love these sets together!

Happy 50th Enjoy The Ride...CCC #75

This week's challenge at Cricut Cardz Challenge site is to make a masculine birthday card using something with wheels (any cartridges and any colors are fine).

I chose to do a shaped card using the Nate's ABCs cartridge. I know it's for little boys, but I thought this car was the cutest... So I just made it a "big boy" car!

Be sure to stop by the Cricut Cardz site and show us your ideas. We'll be visiting your blogs to see your take on the challenge!

It's YOUR Day... The Cutting Cafe

I wanted to make a fun birthday card so I started browsing through my Cutting Cafe files... I thought this Ribbon Banner Shaped card would make a fun card base. The Ribbon Card comes with sentiments as well... The "It's Your Day" sentiment used on this card is just one of many that are part of the set.

I added a fun shaped cake and a funky flower and it is done. I hope the recipient enjoys this card.

BTW... Please forgive the photo... I tried removing the shadows with some photo editing software, but apparently I've no clue what I'm doing...

Birthday Card for Mom...

This card is for my mom's birthday. Since I'm in Spring mode, I thought I'd use flowers(again). I cut the card base from the Cricut Lacy Labels cartridge and the flowers came from the Cricut Paisley cartridge. I distressed the flowers a bit to give them a little more oomph! The stamped sentiment is from Papertrey Ink.

Enjoy!

Make It TALL...CCC#65

Back with another Cricut Cardz Challenge. The DT was asked to make a 9 X 4 card... any theme, any colors, and any cartridges!!! Certainly you guys can play along with this challenge!!!

This card that I made can be used for many themes (friendship, thinking of you, bday, just because)etc... I wanted to make it fun so I used the adorable spiral flower cut from Accent Essentials. I needed a long stem so I used a stem cut from Walk In My Garden. You can't see the leaves because I covered it with this cute, but funky ribbon that's been in my stash forever. And since I've been neglecting my Imagine, I decided to print the papers from the Hopscotch cartridge. I also added the butterfly from the images that come stored on the Imagine. I threw in a comple of buttons added a few stamped sentiments and a little bling and voila the card is done!

Stop on by the Cricut Cardz Site and show us your creations!

It's About That Time... Cutting Cafe

The Cutting Cafe has lots of new digi stamps so you have to go and check them out. This card was made using the newly released digi stamp set called "It's About That Time". This flower with the embedded clock as well as the sentiment are only a couple of the MANY images that come with that set. The set comes with large clocks that can be punched out with a 3inch circle punch. It comes with timepieces that are perfectly sized for A2 cards and much much more. There's a total of 77 images in all!!!

For this card, I cut the flower using Make the Cut Software and pop dotted them for a little added dimension.

This card was super simple to make and Oh so fun!

I'm seeing GREEN!!! That's because Regina, owner of The Cutting Cafe, asked her design team to come up with some "green inspiration", the color green that is... I send birthday cards a lot so I chose to use the Cutting Cafe's "Birthday Fun Set" for my green inspired project.

Now for the good part. YOU have a chance to win the Cutting Cafe set that I used to make this project!!! All you have to do is leave a comment on this post before midnight CST February 19th. On February 20th, I will use random.org to choose the winner! It's that simple...

You'll love this set. It's so versatile and it's HUGE (comes with 63 images). I chose to cut this set using a die cut machine, but you can do whatever you like... die-cut them, hand-cut them, print them, color them, resize them... No limits...

Remember... leave a comment before midnight CST February 19th and I'll be back to announce the random.org winner on February 20th.

Quickie Birthday Card...

Here I go again with my last minute cards. Perhaps that's why it's a nice Spring card during Winter... Well, I'm in Texas and Winter sometimes brings nice Spring temperatures... Nonetheless, I've completed this card to give to one of my church members. I hope she likes it.

I used October afternoon "Fly A Kite" scraps for all the papers.

Birthday XOXO...Throwback Thursday 8

I finally had the time to participate in Emma’s Throwback Thursday Challenge. I came across her site a few weeks ago, but I hadn’t been able to make the deadline until NOW!!! The Throwback Thursday Challenge focuses on the older (not used as often) Cricut cartridges. This week’s challenge was to create a project relating to birthdays using the Cricut Celebrations cartridge.

Of course, I did a simple card (it’s what I do most)… The black scalloped layer is the shadow feature on the #5 button (page 86 in the handbook). The embossed white layer is the blackout feature on the #9 button (page 90 in the handbook). The three birthday hats are welded cuts from the {hat2} image (page 103 in the handbook). I added a little bling to the hats with the iRock. So glad I had the chance to participate.

Aged To Perfection...

I just purchased the Cricut Lite Lacy Labels (LLs) cartridge and couldn't wait to use it. So for the shaped card base & the tag/label, I used LLs. And to accompany it, I used another of my favorites, Forever Young. This card is a little more whimsy than the norm, but I kinda like it.

I even had time to make a matching envelope for this one. I used the Cricut Just Because Cartridge for the envelope.

A Little Birdie Told Me…. 2S4Y Kazan #49

Just dropping in to post my take on this week’s 2 Sketches Challenge (Kazan #49). Once again I pulled out my new favorite, PTI Polka Dot Basics II stamps, for the bottom portion of the card. I used Cricut Straight From the Nest for the bird and oval scallop.
