My friends and I had a challenge to use some our scraps. In addition, we were to use some form of embossing (wet or dry), and a technique or tool that we'd never done before.
I chose to do an Easel card because I've always wanted to try it (hope this counts as technique). All of the paper came from my scrap stash and I wet embossed the sentiment.
Challenge met!
BTW... the flower pot easel is an SVG from "My Scrap Chick" that was cut with my Silhouette.
Enjoy...
Welcome...
I hope to use this blog to share some of my handmade cards as well as some of my scrapbook pages and maybe a few pics here and there that may or may not make it to a scrapbook page.
Scrapping for me is simply a fun hobby that I don't do often enough. More often than not, I'm a collector of all things scrap... i.e. tools, paper, embellishments...
Now to become motivated... Maybe this blog is just the way to do it...
Enjoy and come back SOON!

Heartfelt Thanks... CCC #87
It's all about hearts this week @ The Cricut Cardz site. This week the challenge was to create a Thank You card using hearts! The only stipulation is there can be no pink and no red. Come on and join us. We can't wait to see what your projects.
For my card, I used the following cartridges:
Card Base and Looped Layer - Elegant Edges
Heart - Plantin SchoolBook
Your turn!
Enjoy...

Hospitali-"tea"... The Cutting Cafe
I thought I'd make a thank you card with a play on words. I love this teapot from The Cutting Cafe and have wanted to use it for a while so I thought it would be perfect. The circle sentiment reads "Thank You" and the sentiment on the teapot reads "for the Hospitali-TEA."
This card actually has a destination... I made a pocket on the inside of the card for tea bags (that I'm out of) then it's to the post office with this one.
The Cutting Cafe set that I used is called Teapot Shaped Card. You can check it out HERE...
Enjoy...

Thank You Note Cards...CCC #77
This week at Cricut Cardz Challenges, the design team was asked to make a card using the "card" creative feature from any cartridge. I chose the Sweet Treats cartidge. If you like to make shaped cards (like I do), then this is a great cartridge to have in your collection. Shaped cards are easy peasy by simply selecting the cards creative feature for the base and then selecting the layers.
I made a few thank you note cards... The outside tag reads "Thank You" and the inside reads "For Being So Sweet".
Now it's your turn to search out those cartridges that have the card feature and show us your take on this challenge.

Versatility…
I made these cards a while ago and never got around to posting them. As you can see, I used one of my go to “stamps”. In this day where digital stamps are so popular, I’ve made a few of my own. And I use this one a LOT. It’s so versatile. I was also able to use some of those HUGE brads that I’ve had in my stash forever. Simple, quick and serves the purpose.

Same, Same, Same… A Few Thank U Cards…
My mother recently had surgery and wanted to send a few special thank you cards to the hospital staff. So I made the same style card; changed the paper and the special note on the inside. The cards were quick and easy… It’s off to the Post Office they go…
Enjoy!

A Flower For You … Trying Something NEW…
I’m truly a gadget girl so after seeing all the great creations that Regina Easter @ Hand to Paper was making with the Pazzles Inspiration, I decided to add the machine to my inventory... What intrigued me the most was the ability to draw, scan, or save clipart images and cut them out… So the card below started as a clipart image that I found on the web. I used the Pazzles machine to convert it so that I could weld and cut it to make a Flower Pot Card… Don't you LOVE the way that I made the process sound so EASY... It may be easy to some, but I was actually confused for a while. I've got PLENTY more to learn, but I think I’m gonna like this!
Oh yeah… Just in case you’re wondering, I’d never give up my Cricut E… Together the two will make a great combination.

Thx a BUNCH… CPS #61
Well, I had some scraps of paper left from a birthday card that I recently created so I put them to good use. Again, I decided to participate in the CPS Sketch weekly challenge. Their sketches are always great and I really love seeing so many different takes on the same design. There’s no right or wrong… It’s simply how you see it… Is that an ideal situation or what?
This is MY take on CPS #61… It’s a fun little thank you card… Hopefully you see a semblance of the sketch in there… :-)
Enjoy…

Can YOU Relate ...?
Since I’ve been making cards, the local Hallmark store or the card section of Wal-Mart is no longer a viable option for some of my friends and relatives. Yeah, very often, I’m an "on demand" one stop card shop of sorts… Can you relate????
So this card is a result of a call from my friend Pam. The call was simple... I answered the phone and she said, “Hey, I need you to make me a thank you card. I’m going to need it by Wednesday... I’ll drop by your house and pick it up.” Of course, I responded to her request with a few sarcastic comments and then I went to work...
That's because I do as I’m asked (most of the time) AND mostly because Pam has been the recipient of more than a few of my last minute requests (especially when a seamstress or culinary whiz was needed).
Anyway, I made a quick and simple card for her coworker... Now maybe I can get back to doing something for me… That is until the next call…
Enjoy…
