Welcome...

So glad you chose to stop by!

I hope to use this blog to share some of my handmade cards as well as some of my scrapbook pages and maybe a few pics here and there that may or may not make it to a scrapbook page.

Scrapping for me is simply a fun hobby that I don't do often enough. More often than not, I'm a collector of all things scrap... i.e. tools, paper, embellishments...

Now to become motivated... Maybe this blog is just the way to do it...

Enjoy and come back SOON!

Flower Pot Easel Card

My friends and I had a challenge to use some our scraps.  In addition, we were to use some form of embossing (wet or dry), and a technique or tool that we'd never done before.

I chose to do an Easel card because I've always wanted to try it (hope this counts as technique).  All of the paper came from my scrap stash and I wet embossed the sentiment.

Challenge met!

BTW... the flower pot easel is an SVG from "My Scrap Chick" that was cut with my Silhouette.

Enjoy...

Hey Chick...The Cutting Cafe

Aren't these images the cutest? This card was created using the Easter Set 3 Printable Stamp set from none other than The Cutting Cutting Cafe.

The set comes with 20 images (includes frames, images, and sentiments) and is so versatile. I printed the image on the card and to add just a little dimension, I printed the egg portion, hand cut it, and popped it with dimensionals. Super easy and super fun... And I love doing matching envelopes (especially if I'm going to hand deliver the card). I sized down the image on the envelope and punched it with a circle punch.

Enjoy...

Make It TALL...CCC#65

Back with another Cricut Cardz Challenge. The DT was asked to make a 9 X 4 card... any theme, any colors, and any cartridges!!! Certainly you guys can play along with this challenge!!!

This card that I made can be used for many themes (friendship, thinking of you, bday, just because)etc... I wanted to make it fun so I used the adorable spiral flower cut from Accent Essentials. I needed a long stem so I used a stem cut from Walk In My Garden. You can't see the leaves because I covered it with this cute, but funky ribbon that's been in my stash forever. And since I've been neglecting my Imagine, I decided to print the papers from the Hopscotch cartridge. I also added the butterfly from the images that come stored on the Imagine. I threw in a comple of buttons added a few stamped sentiments and a little bling and voila the card is done!

Stop on by the Cricut Cardz Site and show us your creations!

Take Your Time... The Cutting Cafe

I just love the Animal and Bug Love Colored printable stamp over at The Cutting CafĂ©. It’s packed with lots of images. Using the colored set was a piece of cake. I just resized the image, added a frame from the B & W Animal and Bug Love Set, printed it and I was done.

To add a little dimension, I cut the turtle shell in MTC and adhered it with pop dots. I used a couple of Cricut cuts for the clouds and grass. Since this card will be hand delivered, I thought I’d make a cute little matching envelope as well.

Enjoy!!!

Wind Beneath My Wings...

I'm still getting to know my Cricut Imagine. I admit I haven't had a chance to spend a tremendous amount of time playing with it. I never cut out the various words and phrases that are on most Cricut cartridges so I thought it would be great to use the Imagine print function & use one of the phrases as the sentiment on my card front. I really like that feature.

Anyway, on this card, the Sentiment & branch were printed via the Imagine. The butterflies and leaves were both print and cut using the Imagine. The machine does so much more than this and in time, I'll be doing a whole lot more...

Enjoy...

OK… Here’s the deal. I’m in search of my creativity. Seems like forever since I’ve done a card. That’s because my creativity just up and left! Didn’t even say goodbye! So to assist me on this scavenger hunt, I stopped by the 2 Sketches site for their 1st Annual Card Showdown. I really love the sketch. It was a challenge, but here’s my contribution...

Enjoy!

Friendship… 2S4Y Kazan #18

Here’s a card based on Kazan’s Sketch # 18 over at the 2 Sketches 4 You site. I found this Friendship quote a while back. I saved it because I knew it would be a great sentiment for a card. The card was pretty simple to do. I used my Cricut for the die cuts.

Slimming Down…

Thought I’d create a card in different dimensions than the norm… So I chose to slim it down a bit. Oh yeah, I broke down and bought a few sheets of paper. I did say that I’d buy paper when I put a “significant” dent in my stack (or should I say stacks)… I think I’ve done well… Plus I couldn’t resist the flowered paper that I used on this card…

Well, that’s it for now…

Until next time, enjoy…

From Me 2 U -- 2 Her…

I explained in a previous post that I’m often (and happily so) a one stop card shop for some of my friends.

So this card is per my friend Kim’s request. She wanted to send a friendship card to her best friend, Angie, who is away proudly serving our country!!! Not a problem, EXCEPT for the addendum to Kim’s card request… Well, she asked that I try and incorporate a picture of Angie (in uniform) and Kim’s cutie pie little boy Joseph somewhere in or on the card…

So I said SURE I can do that… Then I panicked because... ummm… I’ve never done that…

Anyway, the finished product is below. Isn’t Joseph a cutie??? He’s no stranger to the camera. As a matter of fact he’s got his very own blog with plenty more pics and videos… You can read the Joseph Chronicles (all 7 months of them) HERE

So Kim, this card is from me 2 u --- 2 her… Hope U (plural) like it!

Enjoy…

The BEST of BOTH Worlds...

So, I'm always reading scrap related things (magazines, blogs etc...) looking for new things to try. Hybrid Scrapbooking has been on the the list of things to try for a long time... I held off for a while because the idea was a little intimidating... Hybrid scrapbooking is the combination of digital scrapbooking with traditional scrapbooking. Some of the elements are physical and some of the elements are virtual... It's like having the best of both worlds (thx for the title PZ...)

So my first attempt is a hybrid card... Just know this... While creating this card, I spent an awful lot of time in a state of confusion... That's because Adobe PSE is also new to me and this hybrid thing requires the use of layers... Layers in the traditional sense... No problem..., but digital layers... Uh.. OK...

After trial and error (because I hate to read manuals), I have a finished product...

Digital Elements: Black and white dotted paper (way cool...), Swirl brushes (left and right of page), and the friendship quote... (all are either .jpg or .png)... Can't wait to learn how to change the colors... I'll never run out of paper or patterns...

Traditional Elements: White and black polka dot ribbon, paper flowers, and green rhinestones.

The actual card is more vibrant... The picture is a little dull...

Well here's to discovering new techniques... There are some serious digital scrappers out there... I am AMAZED at what they do...

Enjoy...

Go GREEN...

...and make it chartreuse... Here's a nice friendship/birthday card that I made. I love brown mixed with just about any bright color; hence my choice of the green/brown paper and the flower. The paper is from CTMH and the flower is Petaloo. I also made a matching envelope. Enjoy...
