Welcome...

So glad you chose to stop by!

I hope to use this blog to share some of my handmade cards as well as some of my scrapbook pages and maybe a few pics here and there that may or may not make it to a scrapbook page.

Scrapping for me is simply a fun hobby that I don't do often enough. More often than not, I'm a collector of all things scrap... i.e. tools, paper, embellishments...

Now to become motivated... Maybe this blog is just the way to do it...

Enjoy and come back SOON!

Birthday XOXO...Throwback Thursday 8

I finally had the time to participate in Emma’s Throwback Thursday Challenge. I came across her site a few weeks ago, but I hadn’t been able to make the deadline until NOW!!! The Throwback Thursday Challenge focuses on the older (not used as often) Cricut cartridges. This week’s challenge was to create a project relating to birthdays using the Cricut Celebrations cartridge.

Of course, I did a simple card (it’s what I do most)… The black scalloped layer is the shadow feature on the #5 button (page 86 in the handbook). The embossed white layer is the blackout feature on the #9 button (page 90 in the handbook). The three birthday hats are welded cuts from the {hat2} image (page 103 in the handbook). I added a little bling to the hats with the iRock. So glad I had the chance to participate.

Aged To Perfection...

I just purchased the Cricut Lite Lacy Labels (LLs) cartridge and couldn't wait to use it. So for the shaped card base & the tag/label, I used LLs. And to accompany it, I used another of my favorites, Forever Young. This card is a little more whimsy than the norm, but I kinda like it.

I even had time to make a matching envelope for this one. I used the Cricut Just Because Cartridge for the envelope.

Hard Rock... Orlando

It's been a long while since I've posted a layout so I thought, "why not make today different?" I'm usually behind the camera so it's rare that I have a photo of myself to scrap. But here's one that I took @ Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida. I was right in front of the Hard Rock Cafe. Yep... had to go in and buy a guitar key chain since I've decided to collect one from all the places I visit.

For the LO, I used a combination of October Afternoon scraps. I finally used those beads I bought months ago when I saw how Sasha Holloway used them in her LOs. Her scrapbook style is FAB & I get inspiration where I can... LOL!

Enjoy...

P.S. - I've got to work on a better way to photograph layouts... Pointers anyone?

Cake Minus the Calories...

This fun cake shaped card has zero calories. I made it using the Stretch Your Imagination Cricut cartridge. Seems I’ve been visiting my older cartridges lately although, I really love the new ones too. This was quick and easy to put together.

I believe... You can fly...

Here's a card that I made for a younger cousin who is in her first year of college. She's so smart and while she's excited about college, she's also nervous. I wanted to let her know how much I believe in her! I used the new iRock tool for the bling on this card. It's a pretty neat tool and since I'm a gadget girl, it was a must have!
